The Location
Perfectly situated on the southwest corner of San Francisco Plaza in Quito’s Old Town, Casa Gangotena overlooks one of the city’s most iconic and historic squares. This plaza once served as a marketplace for indigenous traders during Inca times and later became home to some of the city’s wealthiest families. From the hotel’s third-floor terrace, guests can enjoy panoramic views of Quito’s colonial rooftops, surrounding churches, and the distant Andes mountains.
Rooms
The hotel’s beautifully appointed rooms preserve the charm of the original mansion while offering modern comfort. High ceilings, elegant fabrics, and Art Deco furnishings reflect timeless refinement, while large windows bathe each space in Andean sunlight. Rooms feature either double or king-size beds, private marble bathrooms (most with separate showers and bathtubs), flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. Every room is soundproofed and designed for serenity and rest.
Gastronomy
Casa Gangotena’s restaurant celebrates Ecuador’s rich culinary heritage through innovative interpretations of traditional flavours. Using local ingredients and ancestral cooking techniques, the kitchen crafts signature dishes that highlight the country’s diversity—from the coast to the Andes and the Amazon. Guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch, or the elegant Café Quiteño afternoon tea.
Getting There
Casa Gangotena is approximately one hour’s drive from Mariscal Sucre International Airport, with easy connections to major cities across South America, North America, and Europe. The hotel can arrange private transfers for seamless arrival and departure.
